That moment when the world melts away…

Remember that feeling I described? That one where love feels akin to those first few sips of wine?

I felt it this weekend all around me. That love affair for Maine. And sharing it with M.

A much needed mental time-out.

Where nothing much mattered except the sun glinting off the lake, a book in one hand, and the other in M’s.

The feeling of home. Him. Where I’m meant to be.

And then, when I didn’t think I could feel it much stronger, a moment happened.

In the water, arms wrapped around each other, my face cradled in M’s neck. He asked me something.

He said it was very important. And he wanted to know.

M: ‘If I asked you to marry me, what would you say?’

Me: ‘I would say yes.’

And in that moment, the world melted away and nothing much mattered except M. And me.

Where we’re meant to be.

In five days, we move in together.

In 18 days, we pass one year since meeting for the very first time.

The rest, as they say, is history.

**UPDATE: No, we are not engaged (yet). Sorry for the false alarm 😉 Re-readig that (and a few comments and IMs etc) made me realize it could totally be interpreted that way!

    1. I thought you might like it…especially since I told you this last night instead of saving it for the blog post (figured your reaction would be just as sweet either way!) 🙂

Sorry I’ve been MIA lately. Life, ya know? Hoping to be better about commenting, but I’ve still been reading along and keeping track of you!
